Steve Shapiro

Steve Shapiro is a Principal and Chief Investment Officer at New Vernon Wealth Management. During his 30 years with the firm, he has developed investment strategies, crafted  portfolios for high net-worth individuals, family offices, trusts and institutional clients and managed global investment teams.

He has a long-term track record and expertise in securities analysis across a wide variety of asset classes, industries and markets.

Steve was Executive Chairman and Chief Investment Officer for Protective Insurance, a publicly traded property/casualty insurance company which was acquired by Progressive Insurance in June 2021.

Prior to joining the firm, he worked as a financial consultant at Arthur, Andersen & Co. Steve received a M.B.A. from Northwestern University and a B.A. from Emory University.
